Hey everyone! Katie here again with a super exciting vlog, all about food! Huntsville Restaurant Week is coming up (August 14-23), and to get ready, I went along with a few other bloggers on the Rocket City Food Blogger Tour!
Huntsville Restaurant Week is a celebration of the wonderful restaurants we have here in Huntsville and Madison County. There are over 60 participating restaurants this year, all running lunch and dinner specials. There is also a new category this year-Bonus Bites-for establishments in the food industry that don’t serve lunch or dinner, like Pizzelle’s Confections and Church Street Wine Shoppe. There are also other events and a social media contest going on, so check out all the details at huntsville.org/restaurantweek! The official Huntsville Restaurant Week hashtag is #DineHsv.

First stop was LawLers Barbecue on Hughes Road in Madison. There are eight-almost nine- LawLers locations, and all of the ones in the Huntsville/Madison County area are taking part in Huntsville Restaurant Week. I went with the turkey-topped Stuffie Tater (stuffed baked potato) and a side of mac n cheese- so delicious. And the food was ready so fast! At the end of our meal, we even had a special guest appear…
Next was Hildegard’s Biergarten on Heathland Drive off of University Drive in Huntsville. I hadn’t had much experience with German food before this trip, and all I can think now is WHY NOT? The owner Sabina brought out several dishes- sausage, bratwurst, cabbage rolls, schnitzel, and goulash, which of course I had to wash down with one of the German beers on tap. We finished off with a selection of amazing desserts, all of which Sabina’s mother makes herself!
Finally, we had brunch/lunch at Grille 29 at the Village of Providence. Talk about the perfect brunch location- 29 cent mimosas from 10-11am and chicken and waffles? You CAN have it all! We then sampled their lunch special for Restaurant Week- a refreshing gazpacho and a delicious shrimp and grits, served in your own little cast iron skillet! Even though it was all delicious, the shining star of the meal in my book this time was the chocolate peanut butter truffle. Heaven.
I am so excited to hear what delicious deals people take advantage of during Huntsville Restaurant Week. If you have a similar experience as me, you’ll be stuffed to the gills with the most scrumptious food around and so happy about it.

Katie Wright is a southerner, an explorer, a student, and an old lady at heart. She was born and raised in the south, but abandoned her homeland during her early twenties for the allure of places such as New Zealand and Northern England. After completing her studies, she returned to the sweet sunny south and is now an archaeologist by day and a blogger/vlogger by night. Other hobbies include baking, crocheting, researching local history (like I said… old lady), and putting things in her online shopping cart and then never buying them.
