This past weekend I had the opportunity to stay at the Fairfield Inn Huntsville by Marriott in Huntsville. The Fairfield Inn Huntsville, recently renovated, is cozy and hospitable featuring a pool, hot tub, and inviting outdoor area. It is very conveniently located near Cummings Research Park, which is the second largest research park in the United States, and Redstone Arsenal. Additionally, a Super Target, and several local restaurants including J. Gumbo’s, Rosie’s Mexican Cantina, Shaggy’s Burgers & Tacos, and Ol’ Heidelberg are located just around the corner.
The Fairfield Inn is a short five minute drive to Bridge Street Town Centre, an upscale outdoor shopping center, which hosts stores such as Michael Kors, Anthropologie, Kate Spade, and H&M. It also houses several prominent restaurants such as the new BRAVO! Cucina Italiana , Texas de Brazil, P.F. Chang’s, Connors Steak & Seafood, and Cantina Laredo just to name a few. After grabbing a bite to eat, you can walk over to Monaco Pictures. Here you can reserve your own specific seat in the regular theater, or grab an adult beverage and head to the VIP area with premium seating. I must say, I’ve been spoiled by being able to purchase my seat before heading to the theater. : )
Also within a quick five minute drive is the Village of Providence, which is a collection of restaurants, businesses, apartments, and condos. During the summer, the Village of Providence offers outdoor movies in the park where you can bring your Moe’s Original Barbeque or Mellow Mushroom Pizza onto the lawn for a picnic during the movie.
Last, but not least, one of the most popular attractions in Huntsville, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, is a ten minute drive from the Fairfield Inn. Several events are held here including Space Camp®, biergarten nights, and seasonal rotating exhibits. They also have the IMAX® Spacedome theater (just recently recognized as one of the nation’s 12 National Geographic theaters!) to view movies.
All in all, the Fairfield Inn is the perfect place for a work trip to Huntsville or a relaxing getaway with access to all the area has to offer.

Hi, I’m Jess! I’m originally from Atlanta, but after graduating from Auburn University, I now call the Rocket City home. While I’m not doing my 8-5, you can find me at my blog, Sweet Tea in the South, hanging out with my lab mix Riley, or starting a craft/project around the house. I do my best to stay active and try new things. I spend an exorbitant amount of time on Pinterest. My current loves are book club, sweet tea (of course), gouda cheese, Downton Abbey, traveling, yogalites, and Pelmeny from the Neon Lily food truck.
