#iHeartHsv Art Collection

There’s an art to welcoming visitors to town. And the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau takes that very seriously.

The Visitor Center not only offers information about things to do (and eat!) while you’re here, it provides coupons to make the activities cheaper and unique souvenirs of the city.

…Which brings us back to the art of welcoming visitors, and one of the newer additions to the Visitor Center. Sometimes when you visit someplace, you just need to be able to say “been there, done that, got the t-shirt,” and for those times, the Visitor Center will certainly sell you some of the most cheerful town t-shirts you’ve seen.

But sometimes? Sometimes you want a little something more. A little something special. (Spoiler alert: Have I used the word “art” yet?)

2016 is the Year of Alabama Makers, and to celebrate, the CVB has partnered with Arts Huntsville on a collection of items by local artists that are both beautiful and Huntsville-y; unique souvenirs that you’ll be proud to display (and proud to buy, if you’re the sort that enjoys supporting local artists).

The #iHeartHsv Collection will last through the end of the year, and has a variety of items, ranging from the craftily conventional — #iHeartHsv coffee mugs – to the decoratively different (I’m betting you don’t already have a rocketship birdfeeder). Ornaments, necklaces, wine stoppers, platters and more are joined by photos, prints, and postcards.

Item prices range from as little as two bucks to $75. Purchases are cash only, and 100% of each sale goes straight to the artists. Participating artists include Carrie Alderfer, Teri Hartmann, Mellissa Meeks, Jahni Moore, Lisa Philippart, Jack Rogers, Wallace Turmann, Jeff White and Monica Yothers.

Each item is one-of-a-kind, so you can browse the collection online to find your favorites and then hurry to the Visitors Center before they’re gone!

Join us in putting the “art” in iHeartHsv!
